BOB BROWN & FRIENDS

Bob Brown – Singer, Song Writer
Bob has experienced the full circle of entertaining; including writing, recording and performing original and popular songs at many venues over the years. Bob started his musical career as a drummer/singer, playing in Europe during the late sixties and moving to Ontario in the seventies to continue his musical interests. Bob is the superior vocalist with a unique voice, sounding and largely influenced by the Beatles and Paul McCartney. Bob spent a number of years in Kirkland Lake playing with the band Fantasy. As well, he is no stranger to Larder Lake – having played many shows at the Lakeshore Hotel. Bob is looking forward to seeing familiar faces during the reunion show on July 7th.

Bob May – Keyboards / Vocals.
Bob has played with most Kirkland Lake bands over the years and brings a strong musical background (keys, guitar, and bass) and leadership to the sounds of “Bob Brown and Friends”. Bob May is a true northern, who has been instrumental in organizing many band jams at the “Vue” and working with many musicians over the last few years to keep the music memories alive in KL. Bob certainly has been influenced by the Beatles and Stones – evident in his playing. Bob has a busy musical schedule these days, but always has time to help friends and return to his roots in Kirkland Lake.
Eric Norris - Guitar Player
Eric has been playing the Toronto circuit for years and brings a strong lead and rhythmic sound to compliment Bob Brown’s vocals. Eric has many influences – including Clapton and Beck. His versatile approach to guitar has made him in demand as the “go to” musician by many musicians in the business. Eric currently plays with Bob Brown in the band “Tram Car”. This will be Eric’s first trip north to Larder Lake and one he is sure to remember!
Gerry Webber – Bass player
Gerry started playing the bass at the early age of fifteen and became a founding member of Fantasy in Kirkland Lake with Bob Brown during the seventies. Gerry is originally from King Kirkland and plays both the upright and electric bass. Gerry has played with different bands throughout his musical career, backing up different styles from old time fiddle, country, rock, R&B and blues. An “inventive” bass player, Gerry drives his sound through a Gallien Kruger rig.

Absent: Mike Panagapka, drummer

Listen to the Music

Bob Brown & Friends have composed a song for Larder Lake's 100th Anniversary called Celebrate.
It will be launched at the Saturday evening Street Dance, starting at 8:30pm at the Beach Pavillion.

CELEBRATE (Larder Lake)

WE ARE HERE, TO CELEBRATE
WE ARE HERE, TO CELEBRATE
100 YEARS IN, LARDER LAKE

WE HAVE COME FROM EVERY WHERE
JUST TO JOIN THE CELEBRATIONS
TODAY IS THE DAY TO CELEBRATE
HERE IN LARDER LAKE

100 years it don’t seem that long
A time to remember
All the memories
From this great town

WHY ARE WE HERE (Why Are We Here)
(Crowd "WE'RE HERE TO CELEBRATE")
WHY ARE WE HERE, (Why Are We Here)
(Crowd "WE'RE HERE TO CELEBRATE")

WHY ARE WE HERE (Crowd "WE'RE HERE TO CELEBRATE")
WHY ARE WE HERE, (Crowd "WE'RE HERE TO CELEBRATE")
WHY ARE WE HERE, (Crowd "WE'RE HERE TO CELEBRATE")
WHY ARE WE HERE, (Crowd "WE'RE HERE TO CELEBRATE")

YES WE ARE HERE TO CELEBRATE
WE ARE HERE, TO CELEBRATE
WE ARE HERE, TO CELEBRATE
100 YEARS IN, LARDER LAKE
